Course Overview

 
As today’s projects are becoming more challenging, cross-disciplined, cross-functional and complex, Project Managers need to be empowered with the industrial proven knowledge, best practices and skills to meet this ever increasing demand.

This five-day course will help you master the critical knowledge and skills needed to successfully manage today’s projects and sit for the international recognised Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification examination. It will give you an in-depth understanding of PMI®’s “A Guide to the Project Management Book of Knowledge” (PMBOK® Guide), pick up study tips and question tackling strategies.
 

You will be provided with the PMBOK® Guide and a bestselling PMP® Exam guidebook, and comprehensive post-course examination support covering online practice questions, mock exam simulations and six months of e-mentoring by experienced instructors.

You will earn 39 Professional Development Units (PDUs) upon successful completion of this course. This fulfils the requirements of the 35 project management training hours(contact hours) for PMP® eligibility. Note that for the purpose of PDU reporting by those with PMP® credentials, the PMI REP Provider Number of ISS is “2339”.

Pre-requisites
Participants must meet all of the following pre-requisites in order to join this course :
  • possess at least a diploma from a tertiary institution or a university degree and above
  • possess at least 3 years (for degree holders) to 5 years (for diploma holders) project management experience (for definition of project management experience, please refer to PMI® website for details)

Live sessions will be supported with online practices by topic and actual examination simulations

PMP Credential and Exam Application
Upon completion of the course, participants are required to submit their PMP Credential and Exam application (CBT mode) online via the PMI website. The exam eligibility period is one year. For details kindly refer to the PMI website.

NICF Accreditation

  • This course is aligned to the National Infocomm Competency Framework (NICF) and accredited by WDA. Absentee payroll and up to 70% WDA funding of the course fee is available for eligible participants (Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents). Absentee payroll subsidy is available for eligible companies and companies on a short work week system will receive the absentee payroll subsidy based on their employees' current income.   • Upon completion of the course, eligible participants will be assessed on required Competency Units (CUs). For each CU passed, participants will be issued a Statement of Attainment
  • Participants may need to attend additional coaching sessions and re-assessments if they do not pass the required competency units. ISS reserves the right not to disclose any information on course assessment process
    1Note: Due to overlapping competency units, participants who have benefitted from the SPUR course fee subsidy for the Certification in IT Project Management (CITPM) Preparatory Course are not eligible for the NICF SPUR course fee subsidy
  • To encourage more Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to send their workers for skills upgrading and to enhance productivity, the Government will be increasing the funding subsidy for this group. The Enhanced Training Support for SMEs will help SMEs further lower the cost of sending their employees for certifiable training programmes supported by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA), and academic Continuing Education and Training (CET) programmes offered by the five Polytechnics and the Institute of Technical Education. SMEs will get to enjoy subsidies of 90% of the course fees when they sponsor their employees for the above-mentioned courses as well as claim absentee payroll funding of 80% of basic hourly salary at a higher cap of $7.50 per hour. This three-year initiative will take effect from 1 July 2012.

Participants are encouraged to sign up for PMI membership to benefit from a digital edition of A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) and access to an online library of Project Management books. The course fee does not include PMI membership fees.
