TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ISS SHORT COURSES

1. PAYMENT OF COURSE FEES
1.1

Any registration of any course, whether on-line or otherwise, will only be confirmed upon receipt of full payment by ISS. Payment of course fees should be received by ISS at least two weeks prior to the commencement of the course.


1.2

Payment of course fees constitutes acceptance of the terms and conditions herein and any other terms and conditions that apply to the course and that which may be imposed from time to time whether through ISS' Website or in any other document.

 

1.3

ISS reserves the right to allow only confirmed registrants to attend the course. If the registrant is, for any reason, unable to make payment of the course fees to ISS within the time stipulated above, the registrant shall inform ISS in writing and ISS may, in its absolute discretion, offer the registrant alternative payment arrangements.

 

2. CHANGES AND MODIFICATIONS
2.1

ISS course schedules, including course content, course fees and course availability are subject to change or modification at ISS's discretion. However, ISS will inform the registrant of such changes or modifications as soon as possible.

 

2.2

The registrant's recourse in the event of any of the above-mentioned changes or modifications in clause 2.1 is limited to one of the following:-

 

a.

Enroll in the same course with a later commencement date. If there has been a change in course fees for the same course, the registrant will pay to ISS the difference between the fees.

 

b.

Enroll in another course conducted by ISS. If the fees of the replacement course chosen cost more than what has already been paid to ISS, the registrant will pay to ISS the difference between the fees. Conversely if the fees of the replacement course chosen cost less than what has already been paid to ISS, ISS will make a refund of the difference to the registrant.

 

c.

Withdraw from the course. ISS will make a full refund of the fees if the registrant have (has) already paid the fee.

 

3. CANCELLATIONS
3.1

ISS reserves the right to cancel any course at its absolute discretion without assigning any reason for such cancellations. In the event that the registrant's chosen course is cancelled prior to its commencement, ISS will make a full refund of course fees already paid by the registrant.

 

3.2

If a registrant chooses to cancel his registration to any the course, ISS will make a full refund of course fees already paid by the registrant for that course provided that the registrant gives ISS not less than 7 working days' written notice prior to the commencement of the course. If the notice of cancellation of the registration of the course is received by ISS less than 7 working days prior to the commencement of the course, ISS will make a partial refund of 75% of the course fees already paid by the registrant. No cancellations will be permitted once the course has commenced and ISS shall not make any refunds of course fees paid.

 

4. URGENT MESSAGES
4.1

As an added service, urgent messages for registrants can be left at the following phone numbers: 6516-2020/6516-2009/6516-2096. In order for ISS to deliver messages effectively, the registrant's name and the course that the registrant is undertaking should be provided. However, for avoidance of doubt, ISS takes no responsibility for any messages that is undelivered.

 

5. COURSES CONDUCTED FOR ORGANISATIONS
5.1

For courses conducted for members of organisations, the same terms and conditions apply to the organisation as that which is applicable to an individual registrant.

 

5.2

ISS permits the transfer of enrollment of a course from one staff registrant of the organisation to another member of the staff and the postponement of the commencement of the course provided that a request for the transfer or postponement is received by ISS in writing at least 7 working days prior to the commencement of the course. Please note that any failure to notify ISS within the time period permitted entitles ISS to charge the full course fees and retain the course fees already paid. No refunds shall be made in the event of cancellations after the course has commenced.

 

5.3

Unless otherwise agreed in writing by ISS, such transfer of enrollment and/or postponement is limited to two changes each per course.

 

6. Electronic Courses
6.1

Electronic courses are conducted on this Website and in order to access the courses, the registrant must register with ISS to receive a user ID and a password. The registrant is solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the user ID and password and is fully responsible for all activities, charges, and liabilities associated with the account. The registrant must immediately notify ISS of any unauthorized use of the account, and until such time as ISS receives the notification, the registrant is responsible for any unauthorized use or charges made on or through the account. In the event where the registrant authorizes another individual, including a minor, to use the registrant's account, the registrant is fully responsible for the online conduct of such user, controlling the user's access to and use of any of ISS' services and the consequences of any misuse. In the event that the registrant is a minor, ISS reserves the right to provide access to the registrant's account to the registrant's parents, legal guardian, employer or other authorized adult, upon such adult's request.

 

7. DISCLAIMER
7.1

Although the courses conducted by ISS are for educational purposes, neither ISS nor its employees make any representations, warranties or guarantees the qualification or appointment of ISS teachers or that any registrant will obtain any particular result, including, without limitation, passing any examination or mastering any particular discipline or skill or achieve any other tangible result.

 

7.2

ISS or its employees shall not be liable to any registrant or any third party for any personal injuries or any damages whatsoever (including, without limitation, direct, indirect, incidential, consequential, special, exemplary or for lost profits) resulting from the registrant's application for or attendance of any course conducted by ISS.

 

7.3

The registrant agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ISS, its subsidiaries, officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates and partners from and against any claim, demand or legal proceeding, including legal expenses, made by any third party or arising from or out of the registrant's breach of the terms and conditions herein.

 

8. Governing Law

8.1

These terms and conditions herein are governed solely by the laws of Singapore. The registrant hereby consents to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of courts in Singapore in all disputes arising out of or relating to the registrant's application for or attendance of any course conducted by ISS.
