"Gartner predicts by 2008, more than 60% of enterprises will integrate some form of SOA into their critical applications and business processes. That's not too far off in the distant future, yet many people are still scratching their heads trying to figure out exactly what SOA encompasses."

SOA is a software evolution that provides simplicity and modularity, derived from standards for defining, accessing and combining services for reuse. More and more large organisations are looking into implementing SOA for the numerous benefits in the technology and business perspectives. Businesses can now experience more flexible architecture, better integration of existing applications with business partners and thus enjoy quicker time to market and a reduction in maintenance and operating costs.

This course will equip participants with the broad knowledge on SOA to help them actively participate, evaluate and plan for SOA projects in their organisations.

Upon completion of this course, participants would be able to :
  • Learn the definitions and principles relating to SOA
  • Understand the rationale and benefits of SOA
  • Understand business driven development
  • Evaluate SOA methodology
  • Perform SOA planning and governance
  • Understand the SOA ROI model
This course does not address the detailed technologies for SOA or Enterprise Application Integration. Such products are left to technology vendors.
