Our Centres of Excellence provide unparalleled training and research opportunities for managers and professionals from all over the globe.
The NUS-ISS Smart Health Leadership Centre provides thought leadership and training to help those working in the health and wellbeing ecosystem take advantage of emerging digital capabilities.
By blending the disciplines, skills and technologies to create smarter and future-ready health systems, we aspire to play a central role in bringing about the transformation required to meet future health needs.
In 2017, the Smart Health Leadership Centre offered:

- NICF - Business Process Reengineering (4 runs)
- NICF - Data Storytelling (1 run)
- NICF - User Experience Design for Healthcare (1 run)
- Ministry of Health on Design Thinking workshop (1 run)
- Industry collaborations
- Signed Integrated Care MoU with Yishun Community Hospital, Lions Befrienders, and Allied World Healthcare to explore new approaches to discharge and rehabilitation for seniors living alone
- Hosted 2 weeks' visit from Ministry of Health clinicians from Peru looking at differences in healthcare approachs
- Embarked on hospitality and health collaboration with Cornell University
- Supported the health tech start-up eco-system in partnership with Galen Growth Asia and Health 2.0 Singapore
- Examined health and well-being needs for seniors during travel in partnership with Modern Aging and Access Health International

- Humanoid robot – Bernard
- Intelligent gait ‘smart sock' health technology grant-funded research project
- "Feasibility of self-administered auricular acupressure integrated with mobile device reminders for weight reduction” grant funded research project in partnership with Hong Kong University
Impact Made to Industry in 2017
- Launched the first social outcomes measurement toolkit for Singapore
- Had Smart Health Leadership projects featured in Channel NewsAsia as core of their Future of Health documentary
- Invited by Ministry of Health's new Office of Healthcare Transformation to kick start stakeholder engagement programme
- Designed a new, whole of government design concept for MSF to tackle family wellbeing issues
- Designed new integrated care pathway for socially isolated seniors; Integrated care programme featured in GovInsider magazine
