2022 was a transformational year for NUS-ISS. It was a year when we launched our new name, brand and logo, as we celebrated 40 years of being the trusted partner of industry for developing digital talent. A culmination of the rebranding efforts we had embarked on for the future which sparks exciting possibilities.
Some of the most memorable and defining moments in 2022 were when our team rallied together to complete our signature projects against all odds. We capped the final stage of our NUS-ISS new building project with the launch of the Terrace of the Stars, a recreational area for staff by staff to enjoy. We also worked with local mural artist Yip Yew Chong to tell the past, present and future story of NUS-ISS and Singapore through a set of canvas paintings, unveiled by Guest of Honour, President Halimah Yacob at our 40th Anniversary Gala Dinner. We ran our first-ever Digital Futurist Challenge designathon, inspiring youths across our institutions of higher learning to envision and design solutions for Singapore in the year 2060.
At the Gala Dinner we also renewed our commitment to continue carrying the torch of accelerating digital talent with pride and passion. This commitment remains steadfast through NUS-ISS’ unique operating model of multiple learning pathways, comprising programmes which can be paced, stacked, blended, joined and applied in a myriad of ways. By enabling all these pathway options, we will leave no talent behind. We will help learners and organisations cross each bridge of challenges and opportunities and are continuing the significant expansion in our portfolio with a strategic compass to guide digital professionals, businesses and governments toward the future of Work & Learning, the future of Health & Well-being and the future of Green & Sustainability.
Poised to take our pathways and programmes to the next level of industry impact, NUS-ISS’ programmes will increasingly be multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary, and joined up with industry. We are excited and ready to enable our industry to cross the next bridge of opportunities and climb the next curve of digital excellence. 2023 will be yet another pivotal year for our industry and for NUS-ISS. For our industry, the New Year will see a renaissance of sorts in many aspects of collaborative human engagement and user experiences, with digitalisation and digital transformation firmly committed as top priorities by organisations throughout the world.
I deeply appreciate the dedication of my NUS-ISS colleagues, the support from NUS-ISS Management Board and NUS management, our strong partnerships with industry stakeholders, and the friendships that we cherish in our community. These blessings truly keep us going and growing, day after day, year after year.
