Annual Report 2022 Chairman's Message

Ms Janet Ang (right), Chairman, NUS-ISS Management Board

The past year gave us all a time to reflect on the monumental journey NUS-ISS had been on since 1981. Since those trailblazing days, it is undeniable that we stand on the shoulders of giants who have envisioned and built NUS-ISS. More so, as we continue to inspire the next generation of digital talent.

In the eventful year, we had trained 8,266 PMEs from more than 335 companies and government sectors. 488 graduates from our graduate programmes had stepped through our doors and a total of 7,540 graduate certificates were issued through our stackable programmes since its launch. We rolled out highly experiential blended learning programmes which are accessible anytime and anywhere. We also expanded our international collaboration with multinational corporations, governments and universities.

Delivering impactful learning outcomes for organisations across a wealth of industries, NUS-ISS has journeyed with partners from the technology sector such as ST Engineering Digital Systems and Singapore Computer Society, outsourced services sector such as Certis Group; health sector such as Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital, MOH Office for Healthcare Transformation and Yishun Health; financial sector such as Visa and the Institute of Banking and Finance; and trade associations such as Singapore Business Federation.

We also engaged in 47 events, which included hosting the first NUS-ISS Learning Festival keynote, 'Digital Transformation Past x Present x Future Forum' at the new Inspire Theatre, drawing close to 2,400 attendees over six days. In sharing industry knowledge, NUS-ISS also held an insightful roundtable for the public sector on the Internet of Things. Our significant partnerships with GovTech Singapore on GovTech Digital Academy serving the whole of the Singapore government and with NCS Group on the Nucleus Programme nurturing digital leaders in Southeast Asia's largest ICT group continues to grow from strength to strength as we boost the digital talent pipelines with critical emerging skills to support digital transformation.

2022 has been an extraordinary year. I am proud of each and every staff for their splendid teamwork, hard work and dynamism, testament at NUS-ISS’ milestone 40th Anniversary Gala Dinner. I also thank NUS-ISS Management Board members for their professional expertise to guide our team in being a key enabler of accelerating digital excellence. I am also grateful to everyone in the ecosystem who helped to bring NUS-ISS to where we are today.

Moving ahead, NUS-ISS is leading the way in transforming how people and organisations learn to be ready for future jobs and future skills. We have pioneered many firsts, and will continue to innovate over the next 40 years. I am confident that NUS-ISS will continue being an instrumental role in developing a competitive digital workforce for Singapore and beyond.
