The 7th ITSM Community of Practice (CoP) Forum presents – How DevOps and BizOps are supporting the shift towards Digitalisation and the new Digital Economy

Will you have a job in future if you continue with traditional ways of carrying out your work as an IT professional?

The answer is likely to be no.

The age of Digitalisation and the new Digital Economy is not only disrupting jobs in various professions across different industries, it is also disrupting jobs in the IT profession itself.

Most IT professionals have heard how IT application development lifecycles and their teams have changed to adopt Agile practices.  In turn, the way we manage IT infrastructure needs to adapt, as the ITSM bottleneck now shifts right, towards operations.

A growing trend for IT infra and operations team’s, is to adopt DevOps and BizOps best-practices.  In more mature economies such as the UK, almost 10% of IT jobs advertised now require skills such as DevOps and BizOps and this trend is rapidly accelerating. (source:https://www.itjobswatch.co.uk/jobs/uk/devops.do#job_vacancy_trend )

These modern best-practices directly support the adoption of Digitalisation and ensure objectives of increasing agility, increasing automation and the optimisation of human resources can be achieved together with ensuring business outcomes that are important to the customer.

This Community of Practice seminar will give an overview of what is DevOps and BizOps and why they are important to the Digital Economy.
