SkillsFuture is a national movement to provide Singaporeans with the opportunities to develop their fullest potential throughout life. Within SkillsFuture numerous programmes and initiatives, there are options of awards, credits, and subsidies that provide funding support towards your course fees.


SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy

The SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy supports and encourages lifelong learning and helps Singaporeans stay responsive to a changing workplace.


Singaporean Citizens (SCs) aged 40 and above (to be counted based on the year which he/she turns 40 years old) will enjoy higher subsidies of up to 90% of course fees for SSG supported courses with effect from 1 October 2015. Existing courses which are already subsidised at a level of 90% or higher will continue to be subsidised at their current levels. Who is eligible?

  • Singaporeans aged 40 and above

How much is the funding?

  • Subsidies up to 90% of course fees for SSG supported courses.

How to apply?

  • For SSG-supported programmes commencing from 1 October 2015, individuals may enrol directly with NUS-ISS. You will only need to pay the nett fee (full course fee after SSG’s grant).

SkillsFuture Credit

The SkillsFuture Credit consists of credits which Singapore Citizens (SCs) can use to pay for out-of-pocket course fees for attending work-skills related courses. The credits can be used on top of existing course fee subsidies provided by the Government.

Under the SkillsFuture Credit, Singaporeans aged 25 years and above will receive an initial credit of $500 which can be used to pay for course fees, apart from government subsidies. Through the month of January 2016, eligible Singaporeans will receive their SkillsFuture Credit account activation letter. They will then be able to access their accounts to use their credit for courses that commence on or after 1 January 2016.

Please note that with effect from 19 May 2017, all SkillsFuture Credit payments will be made to training providers instead of individuals.

  • Singaporeans aged 25 and above

How much is the funding?

  • $500 opening credit with periodic top-ups from government

How to apply?

  • Starting January 2016, all Singaporeans aged 25 years old and above will be able to pay for or offset skills related course fees by applying for claim(s) through their SkillsFuture Credit account and submit a claim via www.skillsfuture.sg/credit once they receive their account activation letter.

SkillsFuture Study Awards

This programme is for those in their early and mid-career so that they can develop and deepen their skills in future growth clusters. A monetary award of $5,000 will be given to over 500 study awards recipients from October 2015, with up to 2,000 study awards given annually at a later stage.The monetary award can also be used on top of existing Government course fee subsidies. Interested individuals can apply at SkillsFuture Study Award. There is no need to serve a bond.
