Financial Assistance & Funding

Graduate programme students who require financing for their tuition fees may be eligible for the following loans and subsidies.

MOE Subsidy

The Ministry of Education (MOE) of Singapore offers a tuition subsidy, known as the MOE subsidy. This subsidy will be administered automatically to eligible applicants. Read more about the eligibility guidelines.

The MOE subsidy is not eligible to applicants without service obligation, which requires international students to work in Singapore-based companies for three years upon graduation.

Tuition Fee Loan

Full-time students who apply for a loan under NUS' Tuition Fee Loan scheme. The maximum loan quantum is 90% of the tuition fees payable by Singapore Citizens for the same course. Read more about the eligibility guidelines.

SkillsFuture Credit

SkillsFuture Credit aims to encourage individual ownership of skills development and lifelong learning. All Singaporeans aged 25 and above will receive a credit of $500 from January 2016. Read more about SkillsFuture Credit.

Skills Future Mid-Career
Enhanced Subsidy

The SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy is an initiative by the Government of Singapore to encourage mid-career individuals to upskill and reskill, thereby helping them to remain competitive and resilient in the job market. Singapore citizens aged 40 and above are eligible for this subsidy, which is provided by the SkillsFuture Singapore Agency (SSG). 

With this subsidy, students who are eligible will pay course fees that are 60% lower than the standard subsidised fees payable by other Singaporean students who are below 40 years old. Students who are not eligible for MOE Subsidy are also not eligible for the SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy. Find out more about it here.

ISS Student Assistance
Loan Scheme

Current students who are Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents (SPRs) may apply for the ISS Student Assistance Loan Scheme if they demonstrate sufficient need for this loan. The maximum loan amount is 70% of the total tuition fees remaining to be paid by the applicant. Interest is 0% and the repayment period is within 5 years from graduation.
