In Singapore and around the world, the healthcare sector is evolving rapidly, driven by challenges such as escalating costs, technological advancements, ageing societies, rising patient expectations, and ongoing workforce constraints. To meet these demands, healthcare professionals need to develop practical skills that can drive meaningful, sustainable change.

This course is designed to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge and capabilities to lead high-impact digital transformation using Lean methodologies. By combining Lean principles with digital tools, participants will learn how to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and support sustainable healthcare transformation. This course is also tailored for busy healthcare professionals, integrating real-world case studies, expert guidance, and practical applications to provide hands-on experience in aligning organisational goals, streamlining workflows, leveraging data-driven insights, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement using Agile practices.

At the end of the course, learners will be able to: 

●  Apply Digital Lean principles to align organisational goals, identify waste, and assess opportunities for innovation and improvement

Structure

  • Course duration: 5 weeks online.
  • Learners' time commitment: 3 to 4 hours per week. 
  • This course has 3 live sessions for introduction, group activities, discussions, feedback and interactions. 
  • Throughout the course, learners are expected to actively contribute to the group activities and online discussions and are encouraged to apply the knowledge learnt.

Who Should Attend

The course is designed for Healthcare Professionals (preferably project teams comprising Operations & Administrative staff and frontline workers) but also clinical and allied health leads involved in lean optimization projects, business or process redesign incorporating lean principles and/or larger organisational digital transformation within healthcare institutions and community care sector.

Things To Note

● Learners are expected to set aside time for group activities before and beyond the course.

● The NUS-ISS Certificate of Completion will be issued to learners who have met the course requirements successfully. This will include attending all synchronous Zoom sessions and completing the learning activities, workshops and assessments (where applicable).
