Instructional Designer

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support subject matter experts and lecturers on creating blended learning experiences for our participants.
  • Work with subject matter experts and to gain insights on intended audience, learning objectives, technological and media requirements and recommend relevant instructional design methods.
  • Collaborate closely with lecturers, subject matter experts, blended learning and production team to design and develop instructional design and content such as videos, animation, media and other instructional technologies.
  • Create concise and effective scripts to present ideas, concepts, and stories in compelling way for various instructional materials.
  • Produce effective storyboards to convey ideas to stakeholders and production team.
  • Lead, manage and maintain the learning experience platform.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal staff on platform usage and developing blended/ online learning and instructional applications.
  • Research, analyse, recommend and apply latest trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design for learners and their context.
  • Monitor, assess and evaluate the impact and effectiveness of learning experiences.
  • Recommend and implement initiatives to improve learner experience and engagement.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in instructional/ learning design, educational technology, design or a related field in Education, Training and Design.
  • Minimum 10 years of proven skills and experience in instructional design, visual design and the development of student-centred digital learning experiences and resources.
  • Deep knowledge of Instructional Design and Adult Learning theories and application of this knowledge in the design of Blended Learning experiences.
  • Experience in learning content development and delivery.
  • Good knowledge and experience in managing learning management systems and learning experience systems, as well as methodologies in evaluating course and learner experience.
  • Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator) and ability to storyboard will be an advantage.
  • Strong project management skills with experience in all phases of the instructional design process.
  • Strong interpersonal and professional communications skills to work effectively with participants, and internal departments like operations and teaching staff.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work both independently and in multi-disciplinary team environments.
  • Resilient, resourceful with good problem-solving, creative and critical thinking skills.
