The 2nd Architecture Community of Practice (ACoP) Forum presents - Real-World Enterprise Architecture

Real-world

Many enterprise architecture ideas and practices get forgotten, some do not even get implemented within the organisation. Skilled enterprise architects must learn not only to innovate within the business architecture but to recognise the drivers of EA and move EA within the organisation. This session will discover how to operationalise business architectures in the real world and explore how this is being executed in a regional bank.

An Architecture Community of Practice (ACoP) Forum

The Architecture Community of Practice (ACoP) is made up of passionate professionals specialising in enterprise, business, information, application, technology and solution architectures. ACoP was formed with the objective of promoting the advancement of the architecture practice through sharing, learning and support in the vibrant network of practitioners.

Forum Agenda

6:45 pm Registration
7:00 pm Operationalising Business Architectures
Saket Saith, Chief Architect for the Asia Pacific region at Princeton Blue

Creating a Business Architecture is a great way of understanding, analysing, and advancing your business. But all too often Business Architectures do not see the light of day and become just another document gathering dust on the shelves of the Enterprise Architect. How do you, as an Architect, unlock the hidden value inside Business Architectures? What more can you do to operationalise your Business Architecture in the real world?

This session discusses some very effective tools and techniques that can help you realise the true value of your Business Architecture. Using real-life experiences, and some very compelling visualisation methods, Saket will demonstrate how you can help operationalise Business Architectures and create real value for your organisation.

7:15 pm Initiating Enterprise Architecture in a Regional Bank - Challenges and Opportunities
Dr. Sampath Dhamodaran, Regional Head in Enterprise Architecture at CIMB Bank (Singapore)

This session will cover topics related with the drivers for the EA, which defines what EA means to the specific bank and not what it means to the community. The scope of the EA Program is defined from these drivers, and subsequently, the work plan is derived. Dr. Sam will also cover the challenges in driving the EA program and deriving the value of EA: EA assets such as understanding the capabilities of the existing business and infrastructure components. It will also highlight how the EA journey gets refined as we transform the business.
