In this case study, Vasant, Head of IT Governance & Control at Phillip Securities Pte. Ltd, looks forward to share the “IT Process Transformation Roadmap” effected in his current organisation. The session will focus on the success stories and as well as mistakes, failures and pain-points experienced in the journey of implementing ITIL, including best practices in Change Management and the current efforts on Service/Project Portfolio Management (PPM) and operating IT with a charge-back model.
As a general rule of thumb, an IT Department should ideally spend around 80% on new ideas to stay relevant in the fast changing technology world and 20% on maintenance work in order to maintain its service standard. If the spending on maintenance work is more than 30-40%, it could indicate significant areas for improvement within the IT Department. Vasant will also share his experience on how IT spending can be tracked, measured and embedded within the IT processes so as to help provide indicators to the effectiveness of IT in an organisation.
