The Smart Health Leadership Centre presents: Health Tech Speed Clinic

The Smart Health Leadership Centre and Meetup Health 2.0 Singapore are partnering to bring you a fast-paced event focusing on the health tech start-up and product commercialisation scene in Singapore.

The opportunity for health tech companies to support the transformation of healthcare continues to grow, with the health tech start up sector playing an important role in supporting the ongoing evolution of healthcare. This event aims to provide practical insights to support aspiring health tech start-ups, as well as those seeking to commercialise new products, in maximising their impacts.

The Health Tech Speed Clinic will take a quick, direct, yet penetrating look at healthcare and medtech companies in their steps towards product commercialisation and market entry. This Clinic has a strong platform component, leveraging on the use of digital technologies to further enable viable health and clinical outcomes.

Pointing the spotlight on two brave companies, the Clinic will put them through the piercing judgement of a healthcare industry expert panel, who will assess and evaluate their efforts towards product commercialisation, diagnosing strengths and weaknesses, and prescribing recommendations to support successful outcomes.

About the Smart Health Leadership Centre

The Smart Health Leadership Centre was established by the National University of Singapore’s Institute of Systems Science to help those working in the broad health ecosystem to take advantage of emerging opportunities through data, digital technology, and innovation to transform the way citizens and industry professionals experience care.

Blending the disciplines, skills, and technologies required to make health systems smarter and future ready, the Smart Health Leadership Centre builds relevant capabilities through integrated training & mentorship, stimulates cross-industry collaboration & co-creation, and generates applied research-driven insights to advance opportunities for a smarter health future. We also support companies in tackling their industry or organisational challenges through our consultancy services.

As part of the collaborative nature of the Centre, the Smart Health Community of Practice (CoP) was established. The CoP welcomes any individuals with an interest in transforming the future experience of health. It is formed with the objective of supporting the adoption of technology in innovative and integrated platforms across the health and wellbeing landscape, through peer-to-peer sharing, learning, and the promotion of collaboration across organisational and industry boundaries, through a vibrant network of practitioners.

Health 2.0 Singapore is a meetup group focused on innovations in the delivery of healthcare and health related technology. This group is dedicated to creating a community around digital healthcare in Singapore as part of the international Health 2.0 movement. This community aims to share, discuss, showcase and develop ideas to improve patient care.

About the 2 Companies to be 'Checked' by the Speed Clinic

NephTech Pte Ltd is a medical technology company dedicated to provide patients and dialysis centres with an evidence-based approach to vascular access (VA) surveillance and management. Vascular access (VA) is hemodialysis patient’s lifeline, as it allows removal of body waste and excess water through hemodialysis, and without which patients do not survive beyond several days.. The company has conceptualized and is developing an innovative low cost VA surveillance technology for dialysis centres to address shortcomings of current state-of-the-art to achieve their Quality Initiative outcomes and reduce occurrences of lost revenues through early predictive clinical indications. This, NephTech strongly believes, addresses a vital unmet need to reduce the heavy financial expenditures in the hemodialysis space.

This product portfolio enables step-down care to be Measured, Moderated, Monitored, and Maintained - Fall Identification Protocol Support (FIPS) provides a means to monitor for probable incidences of falls and alert the caregivers to the plight. It not only detects probable falls, it also identifies patterns of near falls and risk statistics, storing the historical data, thereby allowing the analysis of the elderly person’s risk profile and hence attempt to predict the risk of future falls.
