StackUp BMT (Build More Things) Workshop - Build Your Very Own Blockchain!

Blockchain is perhaps one of the most important technology to have emerged over the last few years. Its impact can be felt socially as well as across enterprises.

What better way to gain real insight into this technology by building your very own chain!

Join our 2-day StackUp BMT Workshop where you will learn:

  • Basic cryptography
  • Structure of a block and the chain including the genesis block
  • Trustless consensus mechanism using proof of work
  • Wallets and transaction
  • Networking between nodes

Go is a programming language created by Google; since its introduction in 2007 Go has been used in large and critical software like Docker, Kubernetes, InfluxDB and Ethereum to name a few.

In this workshop, you will use Go programming language to implement essential Blockchain features; use Go to model major blockchain data structures, perform I/O, use Go libraries to encrypt data, create hashes, respond to API request, etc.

If you have always wanted to know more about Blockchain, this is an excellent opportunity to learn two of the hottest technologies in a single workshop.

Who Should Attend

Developers who are wants a basic understanding of how Blockchain works and/or developers who want a crash course on Go.

Pre-Requisite
The workshop is targeted at participants who are comfortable with at least 1 programming language


What to Bring

Notebook running either Windows, Mac or Linux (Ubuntu preferred).

Note: you cannot use iPad or Android tablets
