NUS-ISS StackUp Workshop: Migrating your Workload to Kubernetes

NUS-ISS StackUp Workshop: Migrating your Workload to Kubernetes

As you migrate more of your workload to containers, you soon discover that managing them becomes a chore.

Kubernetes is a platform for managing containerized workloads. It is an extremely popular container orchestration platform. Used correctly, Kubernetes can provide a layer of abstraction on top top of specific cloud provider making your cloud infrastructure vendor neutral.

In this demo oriented session, we will see how to manage a few microservice. Some of the topics that the session will be covering includes

  • creating pods and deployments
  • exposing your deploments as services
  • allocating volumes and and making volume claims
  • scaling your application horizontally
  • performing upgrades

Note: This session will not cover Docker and assumes that you have some familiarity with it.
