Raja-profile1. Please tell us about your professional background.

I started my career as an application developer on the IBM Lotus Notes/Domino platform developing collaboration solutions. Through the years, I have worked as a Systems Analyst, Technical Lead and in Project and Program Management roles building solutions in multiple technology platforms for collaboration, business intelligence and digitalisation.

2. Could you share more about what you do and how this facilitates and impacts organisational/staff development?

With my hands-on experience in developing solutions, managing transformation and driving value realisation for IT initiatives, I identify key drivers for the organisation to boost its IT investment. Envisioning solutions and the challenges organisations face in implementing them, I am able to effectively bridge business and technology to create value for the organisation with successful solution implementations.

3. Why did you choose NUS-ISS?
NUS-ISS is a leader in the delivery of cutting edge learning for technology in Singapore and that made it a prime attraction for me.

4. What do you enjoy most about your work?
The biggest satisfaction for me since the start of my career has been solving a business problem with the use of technology and seeing the improved benefits it brings to the users and organisation. With years of experience and having progressed in my career, I am able to create an impact on multiple aspects of the business. This is my key drive factor – to be able to create value with solutions we help to implement for the organisation.

5. How do you keep up with the industry?
I am a firm believer in being hungry for knowledge and a passion for learning. At every possible opportunity, I have consolidated my learning experience with industry accredited certification. Besides reading industry and consulting journals, and participating in industry events, I will make the time to join professional networking events to stay in touch with friends and former colleagues to keep myself abreast of the happenings in the local ecosystem.

6. What are your favorite activities when you are not working?
I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends in small groups. For recovery, I enjoy solitary workouts and spending time on my hobbies.

7. Tell us something about yourself that very few people know.
I am an Indian history buff. I believe that the ability to chronologically order items is a key skill in solving systems problems.
