NUS-ISS Learning Festival 2023
As 2023 comes to an end and we close another eventful year, Mr Khoong Chan Meng, CEO of NUS-ISS, takes a moment to pause, reflect and pen down his thoughts on how far we have come and the journey ahead.

Our journey at NUS-ISS in 2023 has been truly extraordinary.
In July, we celebrated our very first NUS-ISS Annual Luncheon since 2019, a momentous occasion where our NUS-ISS community and industry partners came together in joyous spirits. In October, the 8th edition of the NUS-ISS Learning Festival took flight. A day filled with insightful sessions brightened our physical campus, followed by an engaging global online festival in November, which connected professionals worldwide through meticulously curated webinars. Additionally, the inaugural NUS-ISS TalentXperience, in collaboration with SG Innovate, opened doors for our graduate program students, offering invaluable internship opportunities across diverse sectors.

Our collaborations soared! We continued our impactful partnership with GovTech Singapore on The Digital Academy, leading multiple runs of significant programmes like the CIO Milestone Programme and the Leading Digital Transformation Programme. Thriving in our alliance with NCS Group in the Nucleus Programme, we trained over 1,000 of their staff through NUS-ISS Graduate Certificates. Our commitment to nurturing digital talent in finance and banking resulted in renewed partnerships in programs like IBF Technology in Finance Immersion Programme (TFIP) and Visa Technology Traineeship Programme. We also unveiled two groundbreaking joint certifications with the Singapore Computer Society: the Certification in DevSecOps Automation & Engineering and the Certification in Managing Digital Products.
CIO Milestone Programme participants with Mr Goh Wei Boon, Chief Executive, GovTech
In 2023, our robust partnership with Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) flourished. We presented our bespoke two-day Digital Leadership Programme for the leadership team of BPI in Manila. We were also honoured to deliver 2 keynote addresses to 800 influential leaders at the BPI Elite Summit held in the same city. This year also marked a significant milestone as BPI embarked on the NUS-ISS Digitalisation Passport Programme, signifying our inaugural venture into international corporate collaborations for our Blended Learning Programmes.
Concurrently, this year was a hallmark for NUS-ISS, witnessing the largest influx of graduate students to date, showcasing a remarkable 35% surge in enrollment within the initial six months. Our new MTech Graduate Certificate in Intelligent Financial Risk Management, featuring captivating courses, quickly became favorites among our IS & EBAC students. We upgraded our courses with the latest models, platforms, and AI deployment techniques, empowering our partners and students in this rapidly evolving field. Furthermore, our flagship Graduate Diploma in Systems Analysis (GDipSA) received a boost with an enhanced focus on DevSecOps, machine learning, and Generative AI.
These achievements are a testament to the dedication and teamwork of my incredible colleagues at NUS-ISS, along with the unwavering support from the NUS-ISS Management Board and NUS management. Their commitment and hard work are deeply appreciated. Thank you.
As we venture into the new year, NUS-ISS is fully equipped to continue innovating and shaping the future. Our mission remains steadfast: preparing industry professionals in Singapore and beyond for the digital age, bridging the gap between today and the limitless possibilities of tomorrow.
