Terms and Conditions of NUS-ISS Executive Education Programmes

1.

REGISTRATION

1.1. The Course Planner is a guide for you to plan your training. Please call ISS if you need advice on the appropriate course/s to take.
1.2. Registration of ISS courses is through our website or via email to our course administrators at isstraining@nus.edu.sg. For enquiry, please call (65) 6516-2093.
1.3. All courses are subject to confirmation. ISS will send a confirmation email to participants one week before class start date.
1.4.

The data provided will be used for course administration including the conduct of any course-related surveys. The data may also be disclosed to relevant organisations that require the information such as partners, certification awarding bodies, examination agencies, and funding agencies.

 

2.

PAYMENT

2.1. Any registration of a course, whether online or otherwise, will only be confirmed upon receipt of full payment by ISS. Payment of course fees should be received by ISS prior to any course commencement.
2.2.

Payment of course fees constitutes acceptance of the terms and conditions herein. Payment can be made via:

  • Credit card
  • NETS
  • Cheque. Cheque payment must be made payable to "National University of Singapore". State clearly your name/s in full and course/ exam title behind the cheque and mail to:

  • SkillsFuture Credit (SFC). Registrant may opt to disburse the SFC claim to ISS. Registrant must submit a claim to pay Qualifying fees to SSG 30 days before commencement of class. ISS shall receive SSG approval 1 week before class start. Should registration be made thereafter, registrants may disburse the claims to themselves.

Qualifying fees means
(i) Course fees
(ii) Certification fees
(iii) Assessment fees
(iv) Goods and Services Tax

SFC claim cannot be used for Withdrawal Penalties. Registrants must bear the outstanding amount. Refer to point 4 for the withdrawal policy.

 

3.

CHANGES AND MODIFICATIONS

3.1. ISS course schedules including course content, course fees and course availability are subject to change. 
3.2. The registrant's recourse in the event of any changes in the above clause, is limited to one of the following:
 
a. Enroll in the same course with a later start date. If there has been a change in course fees for the same course, the registrant will pay to ISS the difference between the fees.
b. Enroll in another course conducted by ISS. If the fees of the replacement course selected costs more than what has already been paid to ISS, the registrant will pay to ISS the difference between the fees. Conversely if fees of the replacement course selected cost less than what has already been paid to ISS, ISS will make a refund of the difference to the registrant.
c.

Withdraw from the course. ISS will make a full refund of the fees if the registrant has already paid the fee.

4.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

4.1. If ISS cancels a class: ISS reserves the right to cancel any class at its absolute discretion without assigning any reason for such cancellations. In the event that the registrant's class is cancelled prior to its commencement, ISS will make a full refund of all course and exam fees (if any) already paid by the registrant.
4.2. If registrant cancels a registration: All cancellation requests must be received in writing. If notice of cancellation is given:
a. Seven (7) working days or more before class starts - 100% refund of all course and exam fees (if any) paid
 

i) Registrant will need to cancel the SkillsFuture credit claim on or before the course start date in SkillsFuture Credit Portal if SkillsFuture credit has been used to pay for course fees. Any SkillsFuture credit payment in excess of your course fees charged will be refunded to SSG. Please note that we will not be able to refund the credit in cash to registrant.

b. Six (6) working days or less before class starts - 75% refund of all course and exam fees (if any) paid.
 

i) Registrant will need to cancel the SkillsFuture credit claim on or before the course start date in SkillsFuture Credit Portal if SkillsFuture credit has been used to pay for course fees. SkillsFuture Credit cannot be used to pay penalty fees. Any SkillsFuture credit payment in excess of your course fees charged will be refunded to SSG. Please note that we will not be able to refund the credit in cash to registrant.

c.

"No-show" on first day of class or after class start date - No refund of all course and exam fees (if any) paid. 

 

5.

RESCHEDULING OR CANCELLATION OF AN EXAMINATION SITTING FOR CERTIFICATIONS

a. Notice of any examination rescheduling or cancellation must be received at least seven working days prior to examination date. Examinations can only be deferred to a later scheduled date within one year of course commencement.
b. With effect from 1 January 2014, any exam reschedule or cancellation is subject to an admin fee. Registrants are to remit payment to ISS accordingly. 
  i.    Reschedule - $50
ii.   Cancel - $100
c. Cancelling or rescheduling an examination less than seven working days without notification, is subject to a forfeit of examination fees. Examination fees are also forfeited for no-shows on examination day.
d. For valid reasons, no admin fee will be imposed. Registrants must write in to ISS with supporting documents, at least seven working days before the examination date. Valid reasons include: 
 
  • Death or illness of immediate family members
  • Military deployment (In-camp-training)
  • Hospitalisation leave
  • Official overseas business trips

Notice received with less than seven working days and "no-shows" will not be granted deferment towards a later examination date. 

e.

For medical emergencies, submission of the appropriate medical advice must be made, within seven days after the "no-show" examination date.

 

6.

ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATES

6.1.

The ISS Certificate of Completion will be issued to registrants who have attended at least 75% of the course.

 

7.

REPRINT OF CERTIFICATES

7.1. Charges for reprints are as follows:
 

Statement of Attainment (SOA) for NICF accredited courses 
(hardcopy SOAs generated before 3 Nov 2014)
S$1.20 per SOA

 

ISS Certificate of Completion 
S$5.00 per certificate

 

Certificate of Final Achievement (for Certification courses)
S$20.00 per certificate

 

*Courier Charges for Certificate from Certification Awarding Body (CAB)
S$20.00 - S$40.00 (depending on location)

 

Administrative Fees (includes handling + registered mail)
S$10.00

 

Above charges are subject to prevailing GST.
*Certificates will be issued on a per-intake basis. For urgent requests, courier charges will apply.

 

8.

DISCLAIMER

8.1. Although the courses conducted by ISS are for educational purposes, neither ISS nor its employees make any representations, warranties or guarantees the qualification or appointment of ISS employees or that any registrant will obtain any particular result, including, without limitation, passing any examination or mastering any particular discipline or skill or achieve any other tangible result.
8.2. ISS or its employees shall not be liable to any registrant or any third party for any personal injuries or any damages whatsoever (including, without limitation, direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary or for lost profits) resulting from the registrant's application for or attendance of any course conducted by ISS.
8.3. 

The registrant agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ISS, its subsidiaries, officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates and partners from and against any claim, demand or legal proceeding, including legal expenses, made by any third party or arising from or out of the registrant's breach of the terms and conditions herein. 

 

9.

GOVERNING LAW

9.1.

These terms and conditions herein are governed solely by the laws of Singapore. The registrant hereby consents to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of courts in Singapore in all disputes arising out of or relating to the registrant's application for or attendance of any course conducted by ISS.
