NUS-ISS Terms and Conditions

1.

REGISTRATION

1.1. The Course Planner is a guide for you to plan your training. Please call NUS-ISS if you need advice on the appropriate course/s to take.
1.2. Registration of NUS-ISS courses is through our website or via email to our course administrators at ask-iss@nus.edu.sg.
1.3. All courses are subject to confirmation. NUS-ISS will send a confirmation email to participants one week before class start date.
1.4.

The data provided will be used for course administration including the conduct of any course-related surveys. The data may also be disclosed to relevant organisations that require the information such as partners, certification awarding bodies, examination agencies, and government agencies.

 

2.

PAYMENT

2.1. Any registration of a course, whether online or otherwise, will only be confirmed upon receipt of full payment by NUS-ISS. Payment of course fees should be received by NUS-ISS prior to any course commencement.
2.2.

Payment of course fees constitutes acceptance of the terms and conditions herein. Payment can be made via:

  • Credit card/Debit Card
  • NETS
  • Paynow/Alipay
  • Giro
  • Cheque. Cheque payment must be made payable to "National University of Singapore". State clearly your name/s in full and course/ exam title behind the cheque and mail to:

3.

CHANGES AND MODIFICATIONS

3.1. NUS-ISS course schedules including course content, course fees and course availability are subject to change. 
3.2. The registrant's recourse in the event of any changes in the above clause, is limited to one of the following:
 

a. Enroll in the same course with a later start date. If there has been a change in course fees for the same course, the registrant will pay to NUS-ISS the difference between the fees.

b. Enroll in another course conducted by NUS-ISS. If the fees of the replacement course selected costs more than what has already been paid to NUS-ISS, the registrant will pay to NUS-ISS the difference between the fees. Conversely if fees of the replacement course selected cost less than what has already been paid to NUS-ISS, NUS-ISS will make a refund of the difference to the registrant.

c. Withdraw from the course. NUS-ISS will make a full refund of the fees if the registrant has already paid the fee.

4.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

4.1. If NUS-ISS cancels a class: NUS-ISS reserves the right to cancel any class at its absolute discretion without assigning any reason for such cancellations. In the event that the registrant's class is cancelled prior to its commencement, NUS-ISS will make a full refund of all course and exam fees (if any) already paid by the registrant.
4.2. If registrant cancels a registration: All cancellation requests must be received in writing. If notice of cancellation is given:

a. Seven(7) working days or less before class starts - 75% refund of all course and exam fees (if any) paid.

b. "No-show" on first day of class or after class start date - No refund of all course and exam fees (if any) paid.

4.3. Generally all refunds claims will be completed within 8 weeks from the date of refund submission.There may be a slight delay when processing the refund during peak periods.  NUS-ISS will do its best to minimise the delay.

5.

RESCHEDULING OR CANCELLATION OF AN EXAMINATION SITTING FOR CERTIFICATIONS

5.1 Notice of any examination/assessment rescheduling or cancellation must be received at least seven working days prior to examination/assessment date. Examinations/assessment can only be deferred to a later scheduled date within one year of course commencement.
5.2 With effect from 1 January 2014, any examination/assessment reschedule or cancellation is subject to an admin fee. Registrants are to remit payment to NUS-ISS accordingly. 
  i.    Reschedule - $50
ii.   Cancel - $100
5.3 Cancelling or rescheduling an examination/assessment less than seven working days without notification, is subject to a forfeit of examination fees. Examination fees are also forfeited for no-shows on examination/assessment day.
5.4 For valid reasons, no admin fee will be imposed. Registrants must write in to NUS-ISS with supporting documents, at least seven working days before the examination date. Valid reasons include: 
 
  • Death or illness of immediate family members
  • Military deployment (In-camp-training)
  • Hospitalisation leave
  • Official overseas business trips

Notice received with less than seven working days and "no-shows" will not be granted deferment towards a later examination/assessment date. 

5.5

For medical emergencies, submission of the appropriate medical advice must be made, within seven days after the "no-show" examination/assessment date.

 

6.

NUS ACCEPTANCE POLICIES

6.1 Participants have read, understood, and agree to abide by the following NUS Acceptance Policies which include:
6.2 NUS-ISS reserve the right to make any changes necessary in the policies and requirements.

7.

ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATES

7.1. Participants have to meet a minimum attendance rate of 75% and are required to pass the assessment to be issued a Certificate of Completion.

8.

DISCLAIMER

8.1. Although the courses conducted by NUS-ISS are for educational purposes, neither NUS-ISS nor its employees make any representations, warranties or guarantees the qualification or appointment of NUS-ISS employees or that any registrant will obtain any particular result, including, without limitation, passing any examination or mastering any particular discipline or skill or achieve any other tangible result.
8.2. NUS-ISS or its employees shall not be liable to any registrant or any third party for any personal injuries or any damages whatsoever (including, without limitation, direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary or for lost profits) resulting from the registrant's application for or attendance of any course conducted by NUS-ISS.
8.3. 

The registrant agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless NUS-ISS, its subsidiaries, officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates and partners from and against any claim, demand or legal proceeding, including legal expenses, made by any third party or arising from or out of the registrant's breach of the terms and conditions herein. 

 

9.

GOVERNING LAW

9.1.

These terms and conditions herein are governed solely by the laws of Singapore. The registrant hereby consents to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of courts in Singapore in all disputes arising out of or relating to the registrant's application for or attendance of any course conducted by NUS-ISS.
