Mrs Chew was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Alexandra Health Pte Ltd on 1 April 2012. Her role is to drive operational and service excellence as well as innovation at the hospital to deliver quality public healthcare in the North.
Prior to this appointment, Mrs Chew Kwee Tiang was the Chief Operating Officer of Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Alexandra Health. She was responsible for strategic and operations management in Alexandra Health, and led the hospital planning team for Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. Mrs Chew was a member of the management committee of Jurong Medical Centre. She was a key member of the team that led change management at Alexandra Hospital in 2000.
She started her career in Guardian Pharmacy and the National University Hospital. She managed retail pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, pharmaceutical warehousing, distribution, overseas purchasing, advertising and promotion as well as clinical support and ambulatory services.
She has been advisor to the Council of the Pharmaceutical Society of Singapore since 1995. She is a member of the law disciplinary panel appointed by the Chief Justice of Supreme Court.
She holds the appointment at the Singapore Management University (SMU), School of Information Systems (SIS) as an Adjunct Faculty in providing consultation sessions and materials on the development of educational initiatives on the Masters programme – the Master of Information Technology in Business (Service Sector Analytics).
Mrs Chew serves as member on the Management Board of Institute of Systems Science (ISS) as well as the Workforce Development Agency’s (WDA) Service Excellence Skills and Training Council (SESTC).
She was presented with the National Day Public Administration Medal (Bronze) Award in August 2011. She also received Pingat Kepujian Award from the President of Singapore for contributions in fight against SARs in 2003.
Mrs Chew graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours). She also holds a Master of Business Administration Degree.
