The 13th Architecture Community of Practice: Enterprise Architecture - The Singapore Prison Service Story

Singapore Prison Service (SPS) started on Enterprise Architecture (EA) since 2012. The presentation recounts the journey from the beginning of the EA initiative, the reason for change and the challenges that they faced and how they overcame them. SPS will be sharing on the benefits that they have reaped from the successful implementation of EA.

The Architecture Community of Practice (ACoP) is made up of passionate professionals specialising in enterprise, business, information, application, technology and solution architectures. ACoP was formed with the objective of promoting the advancement of the architecture practice through sharing, learning and support in the vibrant network of practitioners.

Mr. Kuai Ser Leng Senior Assistant Director, Technology Singapore Prison Service

Mr. Kuai Ser Leng is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Singapore Prison Service (SPS). He started his career as a uniformed officer, and have been involved in the development of the ICT for SPS over the years, including the implementation of the world's first Integrated Security System (ISS) at Changi Prison Complex. After taking over the helm of Technology Branch in 2011, he has led the branch to win several regional ICT awards, including CIO Awards 2012 - CIO 100 Index, National Infocomm Awards 2012, IT Excellence Awards (Best Security Strategy) 2012 and Futuregov Award 2013. In recent years, through the implementation of Enterprise Architecture, he leads the transformation of the key ICT systems in SPS, designing them to meet the increasing complexity of user requirements amid the challenges of cyber security and the need to improve work productivity.
