Chuan-Wei is the Chief Cybersecurity Technology Officer with STEE-InfoSec and has been in the IT industry since 1992, and has more than 18 years of experience in information security.

Prior to joining STEE-InfoSec, he was the Executive Security Advisor - IBM Security APAC, who was honored as:

  • 2014 (ISC)² Asia-Pacific President's Award Honoree,
  • 2013 (ISC)² Senior Information Security Leadership Achievement (ISLA) Honoree,
  • 2012 (ISC)² Information Security Leadership Achievement (ISLA) Honoree and
  • 2010 IDG Chief Security Officer (CSO) ASEAN Award winner.

Prior to joining IBM, he served as the Security Information Officer/Director - Information Security Advisory Services (AMEA), with BT Security, BT Singapore.

Chuan Wei holds a Bachelor of Information Technology from University of Southern Queensland, Australia and during his 25 years of IT experience, he assumed various IT management roles in the financial and telecommunication sector regionally and he also serves as an adjunct lecturer with Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Institute of Systems Science-National University of Singapore (ISS-NUS) and Temasek Polytechnic, authorised instructor with (ISC)² and a guest lecturer with the Business Continuity Management Institute.

He also serves as an authorized instructor and a Technical Advisor for (ISC)² APAC. (ISC)² is an international non-profit membership association (International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium) focused on inspiring a safe and secure cyber world.

His financial background includes working in a Japanese bank’s technology arm, UOB and Standard Chartered Bank where he was responsible for the strategic planning and review of IT security initiatives and operation management, as well as performing compliance reviews and support of internal and external audits. He also worked at Nortel Networks, where he was manager (Systems Security) for Corporate Security in APAC responsible for information systems security involving the protection of intellectual property, systems integrity and computer forensic investigation.

Chuan-Wei received his Bachelor of Information Technology degree from University of Southern Queensland and carries the following professional industry certifications: CISSP, CISA, CFE and BCCE.

Max has more than 15 years of leadership experience in cybersecurity, technology risk management, data protection, compliance, IT governance and technological audit. He served customers across the Asia Pacific and Japan region empowered them with pragmatic and innovative resolution addressing security risk identified. Max is the recipient of National Cybersecurity Postgraduate Scholarship and a few outstanding candidates nominated and attended International Education & Research Industry Program (ZERIP) chaired by Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China. Most recently, he held client consulting and assurance leadership role with EY, primarily responsible for delivering a secured posture evaluating the information systems and infrastructure deployed by his clients. Those information systems include cloud computing (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Blockchain.
