The past few months have brought about unprecedented changes and the institute constantly adapts and innovates to deliver the learning festival in a virtual manner. Setup began from the ground up by converting a classroom on premise to an in-house video production studio, complete with a green screen to cast captivating virtual backgrounds. Safety measures have also been put in place to ensure safe distancing between speakers.

Said Khoong Chan Meng, CEO, NUS-ISS, “The Virtual Learning Festival aims to enable Singaporeans and a global audience to navigate their future skills and career pathways. Curated specially for the event, the variety of topics offered are succinctly delivered live as interactive learning snippets so as to help fresh graduates, PMETs and mid-career professionals understand the skills and competencies required to pivot toward the digital economy.”

The inaugural NUS-ISS Virtual Learning Festival features nine curated tracks, namely, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Digital Transformation & Leadership, Digital Products & Platforms, Digital Marketing & Design Thinking, Data Science, Smart Health, Smart Systems, and Career Transformation.

With Career Transformation taking centre stage, a blend of career coaching talks will give an in depth overview on NUS-ISS Professional Conversion Programmes (PCP) and Industry Initiatives that cater to both jobseekers and employers. Said Mr Lawrence Wong, Minster of Education during the opening address of the recent SkillsFuture@NTU event, "Our Institute of Higher Learnings are now expanding their networks of industry partners, and working more closely to foster wide-reaching collaborations with employers. One example is the collaboration between NUS-ISS and NCS Pte Ltd. It allows fresh graduates and mid-career professionals to simultaneously work in NCS and…attain a Master of Technology from NUS-ISS. More importantly, they will gain valuable skills that will position them well for their career in the IT industry.”
