Today’s leaders need to satisfy technologically sophisticated and demanding customers (both internal and external), exploit disruptive technologies like cloud and machine learning, and implement new agile development methodologies – all whilst reducing costs. To meet these challenges, they turn to new digital solutions to reduce costs and provide advanced capabilities customers expect. However, these initiatives often fail to provide the anticipated benefits as quickly as their business cases promise. Frequently, due to differences in objectives, processes and budget constraints, IT and business stakeholders struggle to work together to use these new technologies effectively.
Using new technologies to meet new customer-centric goals requires new ways of organising and working together to be successful. Putting in place Digital Governance is a critical step to adopt new technologies and implement changes effectively.
Digital Governance establishes clear accountability, develops decision-making processes and creates guidelines for maintaining alignment with the digital vision. Digital Governance brings senior leadership, business, and technology stakeholders together, giving everyone a voice whilst maintaining a clear decision-making hierarchy.
This course is part of the Digital Business Strategy & Leadership series offered by NUS-ISS.
