In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, sustainability is no longer just an option; it’s a necessity. The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector currently accounts for approximately 2.1% to 3.9% of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Looking ahead to 2050, projections suggest that the ICT sector's share of global emissions could increase significantly if current trends continue. Estimates indicate that by 2050, ICT-related emissions could comprise up to 14% of global GHG emissions, primarily due to the growing energy demands of data centers, network infrastructure, and the proliferation of digital devices across all sectors, not just within ICT companies themselves. For companies across all sectors, addressing these challenges through Green IT management and sustainable digital practices is essential for maintaining competitive advantage and achieving long-term sustainability goals.

The Digital Sustainability Programme is an Executive Education Series designed to equip strategic and business leaders with the essential knowledge and skills to spearhead digital sustainability initiatives. This program empowers you to harness the power of data, digital technologies, data science, and AI to drive sustainable business outcomes, fostering innovation and transformation to thrive in the digital age while advancing sustainability goals.
