Since 2013, NUS ISS has been delivering a suite of data analytics courses and a Master of Technology programme to develop analytics talent capacity in the Singapore workforce.

Data has become the core pillar of decision making in the business world. Leveraging data provides insights helps answer business questions. Business owners and leaders can turn these insights into actionable decisions and improve business outcomes.

Being data-driven is about building the tools, abilities, and most crucially, a culture that acts on data. Multiple stakeholders like data scientists, data engineers, business leaders and managers have to come together at the beginning and the end of analytics projects.

To use data for making effective decisions in Financial Services, the typical questions to be answered are:

• What is data science about?
• What kind of problems can be solved using analytics?
• How do I implement the analytics? What are the risks and benefits to my organization?
• What competencies are needed for a successful project in a data driven organisation
• What are the kind of roles I need to recruit for?
• What are the typical data science applications in the Financial Services Industry?

This course is part of the Data Sciences practice offered by NUS-ISS.
