This 2-day course focuses on hands-on engineering of intelligent software robots and virtual assistants. Applications include interactive virtual assistants that can undertake intelligent tasks via verbal and textual instructions as well as RPA (robot process automation) applications.

Commercial interactive software robot examples are:

  • Amazon Alexa
  • Apple Siri
  • Google Assistant
  • Microsoft Cortana

At the end of the course, participants will be able to design and build AI powered software robots using open source toolsets.

This course is a part of  the Graduate Certificate in Intelligent Software Agents, which is a part of the Stackable Graduate Certificate Programme in Artificial Intelligent Systems (master degree) offered by NUS-ISS.

Who Should Attend

Digital leaders, software engineers, AI engineers or Infocomm technology (ICT) professionals who are interested to use intelligent software robots, virtual assistants and RPA methods to improve their organization processes and operations. For example, to provide a better customer engagement experience and/or reduce customer servicing costs.

Prerequisites

Participants are expected to possess the following:

  • Basic programming skills such as python.
  • Linux shell scripting is a plus, but not mandatory.

What to Bring

No printed course materials will be issued.

Participants must bring their internet-enabled computing device (laptop recommended) with power charger to access and download course materials, as well as conduct workshops.

All classes are subject to confirmation and NUS-ISS will send an acceptance email to participants one week prior to the commencement date. Confirmed registrants are to attend and complete all lectures, class exercises, workshops and assessments (where applicable). Additionally, all responses to feedbacks and surveys conducted by NUS-ISS and its partners must be submitted. All training and assessments will be delivered as described in the course webpage.
