NUS-ISS held its third Professional Diploma Presentation Ceremony on 28 November 2019. The jubilant celebration marked the key milestones of the inaugural cohort of Smart Health Leadership Graduates, from Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and; Graduates from the Professional Conversion Programme (PCP) for Data Analysts and FullStack Software Developers.
Jovial graduates filled the hall alongside industry and trade guests, PCP company sponsors and NUS-ISS staff making up an audience of 70 as Ms Janet Ang, Chairman of NUS-ISS’s Management Board graced the occasion with an opening address peppered with captivating personal anecdotes and her thoughts on the raison d'être to stay relevant in the digital economy.
To date, NUS-ISS with the support of SkillsFuture Singapore and WorkForce Singapore has helped place more than 250 PMEs from close to 61 companies through successful conversion. On a macro level, the institution has steadily trained more than 135,000 professionals since 1981 and is growing from strength to strength in line with Singapore’s drive to become a Smart Nation.

Dr Faheem, Graduate of the Professional Diploma in Smart Health Leadership, shares on his learning journey, “It has been a memorable experience interacting with fellow student colleagues from different industries such as IT, manufacturing, banking and tourism. I have learnt significantly from working with a diverse group of professionals and it has been refreshing to hear their perception about healthcare.”
Re-Skilling through Professional Conversion Programmes in Data Analytics and FullStack Software Development

Mr Edmund Shao, Graduate of PCP for Data Analysts, added, “We are living in a world where important decisions are made based on data. Data analytics can help us to visualise better, make a better decision and predict behaviour. The PCP programme has prepared us with the necessary tools to further improve our technical knowledge and skills on our own.”
Mr Samuel Wang, Graduate of PCP FullStack Software Development emphasised on how the programme has allowed him to transition from a junior developer role to a more senior role since his practicum and further helped him to adapt in the workplace.
