NICF- Essential Leadership Skills for Project Managers

Overview

People are the difference between success and failure of any endeavour. In a project where customers’ demands, time constraints and resources compete, the Project Manager is faced with the challenge of delivering the desired outcomes with their project team. Diversity in skills, personalities and backgrounds are hallmarks of any team. How does a Project Manager harness this diversity to forge a cohesive unit that is collaborative, synergistic, committed and motivated towards the successful delivery of the project?

Leadership skills, team management, conflict management, political astuteness and personal effectiveness are essential skills for any Project Manager. This Essential Leadership Skills for Project Managers course is a perennial favourite, having drawn the participation of many IT professionals in project leadership and technical roles. The various problem scenarios, video clips and conversations resonate deeply with the personal experience of the participant. This course covers concepts and best practices utilising discussions, workshops and personal reflections to understand and reframe the issues. Designed to complement the “Project Management for IT” foundation course, it focuses on the much needed people skills in a project.

This course is delivered by a team with a rich mix of executive management and large scale programme/project leadership experiences. It also offers participants valuable networking opportunities and experience sharing.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will earn 19.5 PDUs (Business: 19.5) that can be used to maintain your PMP® credential. Note that for the purpose of PDU reporting by those with PMP® credentials, the PMI REP Provider Number of ISS is “2339”.
