Transforming crop protection demo trial process
This is demo plot management system for BASF South East Asia to manage their crop protection products demonstration process. This tool will serve the Agricultural Solutions Business Unit in APAC (A-APA) to transform the current demonstration (demo) plot trial processes carried out by ground staff in the region. The Agricultural Solutions Business Unit in ASEAN is planning to roll out more than 30 product launches in the upcoming years. During each product launch, ground staff i.e. promoters will perform demo trials of the new product on farms in their respective countries. It is estimated that there will be at least 300 upcoming trials to be performed. At present, demo trials are carried out manually on paper and/or Excel without the ability to properly consolidate and analyse data. These processes also vary between countries and can be hard for management to control or monitor the activities of the promoters. This project was initiated to digitize the captured data and help create insights for management to enhance sales and marketing efforts when products are launched. It also aims to standardize the demo trial processes with a top-down approach to increase business efficiency through efficient data capturing, accurate analysis & business-decision making processes and monitoring & steering implementation of demo plot trials.

Intelligent Hand Rehabilitation System for Stroke Patients
Current methods for estimating hand joint angles is manually intensive, and automation of this process relies heavily on accurately estimated joint positions. A method using a state-of-the-art hand key-point detector, OpenPose, to perform 3D reconstruction of hand joint coordinates to build an environment specific dataset for this task is proposed. To overcome the limitations of images taken from a single viewpoint, a Convolutional Bi-directional LSTM network that can exploit spatial-temporal features across a short video sequence of a moving hand pose to estimate joint positions is also proposed in this work. The use of the multi-view triangulation tool as well as the deployed model in a real-time setting for hand joint angle estimation will be demonstrated.

Inferring Commuters’ Travel Intent
This three month internship project with the Land Transport Authority sought to garner insights on a commuter's purpose of travel through fare card transaction data. The model developed utilizes a unsupervised learning clustering technique called K-Means to group commuters with similar travel patterns together.
