TAN Cher Wah

Senior Lecturer & Consultant, Software Systems Practice

Profile

Cher Wah has over 20 years of software development experience in the Education, Security and Applied R&D domains. Prior to joining NUS-ISS, he headed up a software team to develop mobile, desktop and web applications at Marshall Cavendish Education. He has also worked at Startups, SMEs, MNCs and Government entities.

His past works consisted of porting a Windows (x86 chipset) voice recording app to run on a PowerPC Mac (RISC chipset), capturing a streaming video and converting its byte-streams to a FLV file on-the-fly, developing a synchronization engine that performed two-way incremental-sync between Microsoft Outlook and a remote server, and an iOS learning trail app that featured sites like Discovery Centre, Jurong Bird Park and Singapore Zoo.

Cher Wah is always curious with how things work under the hood. His technical interests include 3D Computer Graphics, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Operating Systems and Programming Languages.
