Join us for a day of learning and networking at the inaugural NUS-ISS Learning Day 2015. This annual event enables business and IT professionals to acquire the latest knowledge you’ll need to keep abreast of industry trends.

Led by NUS-ISS teaching staff with an average of more than 20 years’ industry experience, the event will offer you insights into a plethora of topics that has been organised into five key tracks – Analytics, Development/Engineering, Leadership, Project Management and Service Innovation & Design. It’s also a chance to explore our graduate programmes.

Registration is now closed. If you wish to attend the NUS-ISS Learning Day 2015, you may wish to walk in and register onsite at the event. Onsite registration will commence at 12:30pm this Friday (28 August).

Please sign up for the individual sessions that you would like to attend as entry is on a first-come-first-serve basis.
You can claim up to 5.75 PDUs depending on the session(s) you attend

To allow you to learn in different ways, our Learning Day has been designed to let you experience a variety of topics in three formats:

1) Presentations

Presentations will feature talks & panel discussions conducted by one or more experts. The presentations cover the key topics in the industry – Digital Leadership, Innovation and Big Data, where you will hear about the latest developments and how you can leverage on them.

2) Discussion

This is a smaller group platform for you to not just hear about, but also discuss and interact with other industry professionals on real-life issues and solutions. Bring the issues that you are facing and hear what others have to advise about it. You can walk off with new ideas and new contacts.

3) Workshops

These hands-on workshops offer you a chance to put into practice the skills and techniques that you will learn, so that you can immediately apply them in your workplace. Workshops will be carried out in a small group settings as well.

Master of Technology (Knowledge Engineering) NUS-Bot - This is an entry for 2014 AI for Interactive Digital Entertainment (AIIDE) StarCraft AI Competition. NUS-Bot is an intelligent bot for the real-time strategy game StarCraft. It is equipped with a real-world military operation manual of 'Intelligence Preparation of the Battlefield' (IPB), for iterative spatial (map) and temporal reasoning.

This is a project initiated by Service Innovation elective students and evolved by Research elective students into a mobile application. This is a proof-of-concept of an experiential computing project to enhance visitor experience.

Free Shuttle Bus Service (only on NUS-ISS Learning Day, 28 Aug)

This is a two-way bus service shuttling between NUS-ISS and Clementi. The shuttle bus pick up point is located near the open car park between Blocks 322 & 324, Clementi Avenue 5 (opposite Clementi Mall, past MRT station). Turn right when exiting from Clementi MRT station control. Cross the sheltered linkway bridge and continue along the sheltered walkway to an open space car park. The boarding point for the bus is the second pathway on your left. The shuttle bus frequency is 1 hour, with the first bus departing from Clementi at 12:30pm and the last departing from NUS-ISS at 9:00pm.

From the city

  • Drive along the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) towards Jurong
  • Exit at Clementi Road (AYE Exit 9)
  • Travel southward along Clementi Road for another 500m
  • Turn left into Kent Ridge Crescent (after passing the School of Design & Environment on your left)
  • After 100m, turn left into Kent Ridge Drive
  • Go straight and travel along Heng Mui Keng Terrace (NUS Business School on the left, Kent Ridge Hall, Sheares Hall on the right)
  • Turn left into ISS, 25 Heng Mui Keng Terrace and park at ISS Carpark (Carpark 12A)

Public Transportation

Option 1: From Haw Par Villa MRT Station

  • Available buses along Pasir Panjang Road are: 10, 30, 51, 143, 188 or 200.
  • Board any of the above bus services from the bus stop opposite the Haw Par Villa  MRT station.
  • Alight at Bus Stop 16061 and cross the traffic light junction (Alight after you pass CHARIS LODGE Condominium on the left).
  • Walk along Heng Mui Keng Terrace. Keep right as you enter NUS and continue up a gentle slope past Kent Ridge and Sheares Halls. ISS (white building) is on the left opposite the Institute of South East Asian Studies (ISEAS).

Option 2: From Kent Ridge MRT Station (National University Hospital)

  • Take Exit A and head to Bus Stop 3
  • Take the NUS free internal shuttle bus service A1 and alight at NUS Business School Biz 2 (1 stop after School of Computing)
  • Cross the road towards the covered linkway and walk down the slope along Business Link. Turn left into Heng Mui Keng Terrace and continue up a gentle slope past Kent Ridge and Sheares Halls. ISS (white building) is on the left opposite the Institute of South East Asian Studies (ISEAS)

  • Buses that stop here: 10, 33, 95, 151, 189 or 200.
  • Walk up towards Ventus and cross the road towards Arts and Social Sciences - NUS Theatrette (LT13).
  • Proceed to Bus Stop B04 and take the NUS free internal shuttle bus service A1.
  • Alight at NUS Business School Biz 2   (1 stop after School of Computing).
